We, at Sahas, wished to start this new year on a positive note. And what better way than to care for the elderly. As it’s said “Respect your elders who have walked the path before you…Respect Them. Because some day sooner than you could ever imagine you’re going to be old too”.  We went to St Anthony’s Home for the old.

We hadn’t expected that we would have such a lovely interaction with the 42 seniors, all of them were ladies. It was such a delight to chat with them. They in turn responded to our questions with such enthusiasm that thrilled us. The feeling that someone is there to chat and talk to is very important. Our team was also not prepared, but many of them said that they liked puzzles & riddles, Sucharita designed an impromptu quiz. And it was a hit. All participated in guessing the answers to the riddles and many got them right as fast as one could snap fingers. It showed their depth of understanding and experience. All of them joined in unison in singing the famous Christmas carol, Silent Night.

We then distributed chocolates to everyone. The other items like biscuits, snacks and sweets were handed over to Sister Nirmala for distributing at suitable time. We wished each and every one a happy healthy new year.

When we bid them Au Revoir {Till we meet again}, they had smiles on their faces, blessings on their lips, and our hearts were heavy. But this is what our Organization stands for “Spreading Smiles”.
