With the pandemic paralyzing normal life, the affected happened to be poorest amongst us. The second wave of COVID-19 again tied us to the house. We, the SAHASIs, wondered how we could be of help to the poor and the underprivileged. We thought of the poor in Asia’s biggest slum, Dharavi and how they must be coping. We thought of Himanshu and asked him if we could help. He was happy to have us once again collaborate with Dharavi Art Room, Mumbai. This time it was decided to make available food packets for the kids. We wanted to cater to as many children as possible but funds were limited. Himanshu from Dharavi Art identified stores and coordinated on our behalf to arrange for the packets to be delivered to them children so that their suffering could be made bearable. The packets contained food as well as art material to keep them occupied and give them an outlet to express themselves.
