Cycling to School

We at SAHAS were convinced that bicycles would facilitate access to schools, reduce travel time, and provide enhanced security to students, especially female students  who could now travel together in small groups. 

Delight on the faces of children of Achra New English School was the reward for our efforts of collecting, refurbishing, transporting and distributing those cycles to the school children.

Distribution of the refurbished bicycles was done in coordination with the school authorities in August 2024, by SAHASIS. Cycles are a rarity for the children in remote villages of Maharashtra, The School authorities were very enthusiastic that attendance would hopefully, improve and together with them SAHAS could reach one small target set for the year.
